At OPAL we have seen just how much of an impact improving play can make to a school. We are not just talking about playtimes being a bit less bother or about children being a bit happier. We are talking about cultural transformation.
When you address a need that is so fundamental to children's physical and mental well-being as play, and you do it well, it is impossible to think of how you ran a school and didn’t do this.
Our vision is that every child has an amazing hour of high-quality play every day – with no exceptions. If one child is not enjoying playtimes, then things still need improving.
The Play team, headed by our OPAL Co-ordinator, Emily, are leading our Outdoor Play and Learning initiative.
We have been part of OPAL since April 2024 and we love seeing the positive impact this is having on the children's school journey.

How you can help
Our Outdoor Play and Learning team have worked tirelessly to create a safe and engaging environment for the children to explore at lunch times.
Your contributions help us to purchase equipment, install safety features and create a vibrant environment for our children to enjoy. Every little bit helps and your support can make a significant difference.
If you would like to contribute, you can do so financially on Parent Pay or by providing donations, at the moment we're particular in search of wellington boots, kitchen utensils, 4 wheeled ride on toys and dressing up outfits. If you're not sure what to donate please get in touch with Emily.
Thank you helping us enhance our school's outdoors space and support our children's growth and development.
